Having acquired Rho Motion in 2024, our reporting and analysis now extends from mine to grid with coverage across lithium ion batteries, rare earth elements, battery demand and EV / Energy infrastructure. Headquartered in London, UK, we have offices and teams strategically located globally.

The role sits within the Technology Division which looks after the IT infrastructure of the company, all digital platforms and business systems. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Professional with 4+ years of experience to oversee all aspects of Information Technology within our fast-growing company. The successful candidate will manage IT operations, internal applications, networking, security, and provisioning across multiple offices and remote workers in various time zones. This role requires a versatile individual who can balance day-to-day IT operations with strategic initiatives that align with the company’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee all company IT operations in a cloud-first environment, including managing cloud services, networking (LAN, WAN, VPN), and ensuring seamless connectivity for both office and remote workers. This includes staff in US / China / APAC and working to provide the right IT infrastructure in various locations.

Technical Support: Collaborate with the outsourced Managed Service Provider (MSP) responsible for providing technical support, as well as provisioning hardware and software for c.250 staff across multiple locations and countries, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and technical issues are resolved efficiently.

Security & Compliance: Ensure data protection, cybersecurity measures, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and access control (including SAML, SSO).

System & Vendor Management: Manage IT systems and services, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Entra ID, project management and communication tools, while overseeing vendor relationships, managing the IT budget, invoices / purchase orders and optimising IT spend to ensure cost-effective service provisioning and procurement.

Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimise downtime and ensure reliability and stability across IT infrastructure.

Policy & Process Development: Establish and enforce IT policies and best practices, with a focus on achieving certification standards including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and SOC 2, to ensure security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Project Management: Oversee IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, process improvements and manage the roll-out of internal applications, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

Platform Management: Management of internal applications used company-wide such as SharePoint (intranet), Box, Asana, Slack, Google, Microsoft and becoming a champion for these platforms within the business. Develop user manuals and training guides to support staff in using apps.

Requirements:

4+ years of IT management experience in a fast-growing company

SharePoint Migrations

Strong proficiency in IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud services

Expertise in cybersecurity, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and compliance (GDPR and the equivalent for other locations)

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and related tools

Proven leadership and vendor management skills, with the ability to manage IT budgets and optimise spend

Excellent problem-solving and project management skills, including system upgrades and migrations

Familiarity with DNS, email, VoIP, and communication systems

Experience with PM tools such as JIRA, Asana, Slack, SharePoint, document management platforms etc

UK based, in the London office 4 days a week with regular travel to our other offices in the UK (across London and Swindon). Note - this may expand to other global office locations in the future
