What you will do

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be a key player in our Data Warehousing team, focusing on building the data models, architecture, and pipelines that power our business. You will focus on critical areas like churn and revenue reporting, ensuring our data is reliable, tested, and accessible. Your work will involve crafting highly performant SQL queries, building robust data sets for analysis, and supporting our leadership team in making data-driven decisions. This is a hands-on role where you will also provide ad-hoc reports, work on dashboarding, and ensure the overall usability of our data.

Where you will have impact

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis using SQL to improve key business metrics, such as our reporting and tracking of customer churn.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data models and data architecture to support the analysis and interpretation of complex business data.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Finance, Account Management, Leadership team, and other.
  • Uphold data integrity and accuracy by testing data pipelines and implementing software engineering best practices like version control.
  • Empower teams to make data-driven decisions by creating visualizations and enabling self-service exploration of our data marts.

About our team

Within this role, you will be an important part of the Data Analytics department, specifically within the Data Warehousing pillar. We are the foundational pillar of Lighthouse's data ecosystem, singularly focused on enabling the efficient use and continuous development of our robust data infrastructure. Our mission is to ensure that our data assets are not only efficient and scalable but also possess unwavering integrity and are readily accessible to empower data-driven decisions across the entire organization.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing Data Infrastructure: Monitor and enhance our data pipeline efficiency, ensuring scalability and managing costs to support Lighthouse's rapid growth.
  • Guaranteeing Data Integrity: Maintain a robust data integrity framework with automated testing and documentation for reliable data marts.
  • Streamlining Data Support: Develop tools and processes to streamline data sharing across systems, boosting efficiency and accuracy in data-driven decisions.
  • Driving Data Automation: Automate reporting and data workflows to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.

Working hand-in-hand with the Strategic Analytics team, we enable everyone at Lighthouse to leverage data for strategic decision-making.

Who you are

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a data professional.
  • High proficiency in writing performant SQL queries and Python scripts for analysis.
  • Strong experience in data analysis, data modeling, and working with ELT/ETL tools and transformation tools like dbt.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, including gathering and translating business requirements.
  • Proficiency in creating clear and impactful data visualizations using BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices within a data context, such as version control and continuous integration.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
