The company

Netcraft is the global leader in cybercrime detection and disruption. We are a trusted partner for three of the four largest companies in the world, twelve of the fifty largest banks, and five of the world’s largest country governments. We’ve blocked more than 170 million malicious sites and perform takedowns against one-third of the world’s phishing sites.

Our purpose, passion and expertise are focused on one thing: protecting the world from cybercrime. We carry that passion into our workplace too. Our people are highly talented, and everyone is valued for their own contribution. That’s one of the many reasons Netcraft is a great place to work. From free lunches to culture and recognition, we’ve got you covered.

The role

We are looking for a hands-on front-end manager who can join the team to help us protect the world from cybercrime. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future appearance and user experience of Netcraft’s services by spearheading the implementation and delivery of front-end changes across our diverse range of products.

As a Front-end Engineering Manager, you will take on a range of critical responsibilities that contribute to the success of our mission:

  • Running day to day activities in our FE development team, while helping develop user-facing features in React and TypeScript;
  • Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions, while maintaining a comprehensive component library;
  • Collaborate closely with our talented product design team to bring the next generation of Netcraft’s products to life. You'll contribute to Figma designs and transform them into functional and visually stunning interfaces;
  • Take a lead role in advancing the consistency and unity of our product user interfaces;
  • Work with various stakeholders, to devise innovative solutions that not only meet business requirements but also incorporate their valuable insights and align with our company's strategic objectives;
  • Help the Engineering organisation build better -- contribute to technical topics and initiatives across our teams;
  • Provide support to the back-end development processes when needed; and
  • Take an active role in coaching and mentoring engineers, sharing your expertise and contributing to the growth of our engineering team.

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Substantial commercial front-end development, with expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ideally React and Typescript) and associated frameworks/tools;
  • A history of successfully creating and delivering frontend projects from the ground up;
  • Proven experience in architectural design and documentation for complex front-end systems;
  • A solid understanding in core web and browser concepts, including secure web design practices;
  • A passionate advocate for Continuous Delivery and automated testing, and ability to steer engineering teams to implementing this successfully;
  • Experience improving test automation standards and tools within FE teams;
  • Experience with cloud (ideally AWS) and API-based abstractions;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
  • A positive, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to take ownership of your work;
  • Most importantly, some experience in a senior/supervisory technical role and a desire to teach, learn, grow and deliver software.

The reward package:

We like to look after our people well and help them feel engaged and supported, so the reward package includes:

  • A competitive salary, reviewed annually;
  • Hybrid and flexible working;
  • 33 days holiday per annum (incl. public holidays);
  • Pension scheme membership with 4% employer contributions;
  • Comprehensive private health insurance, including access to a private GP service and dental cashback;
  • Free meals, drinks and snacks provided daily in the offices;
  • Comprehensive wellness provisions;
  • Regular events such as monthly board game nights, quarterly socials and a big summer party;
  • A tax-efficient cycle to work scheme;
  • Inclusive culture and environment, where you’ll feel genuinely valued and respected.

At Netcraft we strongly believe in individual growth and development so even if you can't tick every box above right now, please don't let it put you off applying.
