About the role Our small but brilliant People team is in need of a detail-focused, values-driven People Advisor with proven experience in generalist roles, and a keen interest in learning and development as a key area. This is a varied and diverse role, which provides a great opportunity to be involved with many operational aspects of the People lifecycle as well as taking ownership for particular areas of responsibility, and some company-wide global projects.
What you'll be doing on a day-to-day basis
· Provide first-line advice and support to managers and employees in line with company policies and employment law
· Support recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding
· Coordinate new starter inductions and ensure smooth onboarding experiences
· Assist with employee relations cases such as disciplinary or grievance matters, such as acting as a witness, taking notes, helping to prepare documents, etc.
· Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems on a daily basis
· Draft and issue employment contracts, letters, and other documentation
· Coordinate training and development activities, maintain training records, and integrate with related activities such as career pathing and succession planning
· Assist with updating People policies and ensuring compliance with current legislation
· Contribute to employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
· Prepare regular HR data reports and provide insights for decision-making
· Support health, safety, and wellbeing compliance and initiatives
· Assisting with company events and supporting ED&I and CSR groups
· Assisting with people-related projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, new benefits launches, and the annual performance reviews and pay and promotions processes.
About you:

· AHRI member
· Minimum 3 years previous generalist experience in a fast-paced work environment. Some experience in the tech sector would be a bonus but isn’t essential
· Confident in communicating with managers and employees at all levels with a style that is clear, engaging, pragmatic, and collaborative
· Some experience of drafting internal HR processes, guides and policies
· A good understanding of key Australian employment legislation and topical HR issues, with experience of advising and coaching managers.
· Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
· Highly self-organised, with strong time management skills
· Conscientious, team player, self-motivated with the ability to think through problems for themselves and propose solutions
· Self-imposed high standards of work and strong attention to detail when working to deadlines.
