We are seeking a Director of Product Management, Platform to own the horizontal platform layer that underpins everything RapidRatings delivers. This is a hands-on leadership role for a player-coach - someone who sets direction, develops their team, and rolls up their sleeves when it matters.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Roadmap
Shape and own the platform roadmap - balancing near-term delivery against long-term re-architecture. Translate business goals and engineering constraints into a clear strategy that enables speed, scale, and reliability. Drive alignment with engineering and cross-functional product teams on sequencing and tradeoffs.
Core Platform Ownership
Own product direction for foundational capabilities - including the data layer, API ecosystem, authentication and permissions, and developer-facing infrastructure. Define what "good" looks like and hold the team accountable to getting there, without crossing into engineering's lane on implementation decisions.
Operational Excellence
Drive measurable improvement in platform efficiency - processing automation, submission quality, and time-to-value for customers. Balance investment in new capability against keeping existing systems reliable and improving.
User Experience
Champion the experience of everyone who depends on the platform - enterprise integrators, suppliers, internal teams, and operations. Ensure the platform earns trust through reliability, clarity, and thoughtful design.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a mixed-seniority team of product managers. Set clear expectations, model accountability, and build a culture that reflects our values. This is a player-coach role - you contribute directly alongside your team, not above it.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure the platform is understood, trusted, and adopted across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years in product management, with at least 3 years in a platform or developer-facing PM role in B2B SaaS
- Proven people leadership - this is a management role, and a player coach who is hands on and leads by example
- Strong grasp of platform fundamentals: APIs, data architecture, authentication, integration patterns
- A track record of delivering in environments where legacy systems and new architecture coexist
- AI fluency - you use AI tools actively in your day-to-day work; experience building AI-powered products is a strong plus
- Comfortable in ambiguity - you hold a long-term vision while making pragmatic near-term calls
- Strong communicator - you make technical tradeoffs legible to business stakeholders and business priorities legible to engineers
- Enterprise B2B background; experience with data-intensive platforms preferred
