Position Overview:

As the Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, you will be responsible for leading projects with complex internal and client use cases, as well as strategic business objectives. The Sr. BI Analyst will use data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to inform business intelligence strategy and deliver impact through data-powered insights and dashboards. Key duties include identifying analytic needs, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), providing input to a reporting semantic model, and delivering internal- and external-facing Tableau dashboards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand internal and external (client) analytic needs and logic

  • Collaboratively define success and develop measurement frameworks

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret business requirements

  • Institute and enforce documentation standards for business intelligence dashboards

  • Drive consistency in metric names, calculations, and delivery so that metrics always match across dashboards and with the agreed-upon definition

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise regarding data (domains, sources, use) relevant to RxVantage use cases

  • Gain insights into the business aspects of life sciences, healthcare providers, and the pharmaceutical industry to tailor dashboards for specific use cases

  • Build scalable, high-performance BI solutions to address internal and client analytic needs

  • Define BI strategy for new and existing dashboards, both internal and client-facing

  • Work with a Data VP and Data Product Manager to create BI roadmaps and prioritize features based on business value

  • Communicate project status and meet agreed-upon deadlines

  • Work with the DevOps team to define and implement a security framework for Tableau

  • Bring data to life through clear and meaningful storytelling for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise

  • Utilize data visualization techniques to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders

  • Present to the data office and product organization

  • Present to clients and cross-functional leaders

  • Present to executive-level stakeholders

  • Guide leadership to make the best use of analytics in their domain

  • Analyze raw data to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights

  • Perform data profiling to identify anomalies and inconsistencies

  • Conduct trend analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting

  • Deliver high-quality solutions and recommendations to various problems both independently and in collaboration with team members and business partners

  • Independently work through a Jira backlog of user requests, communicate status, and meet delivery dates, including creating backlogs for larger projects

  • Reconcile divergent demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment

  • Mentor junior team members on analytics, storytelling, and communication best practices

  • Influence and support the standards of excellence and best practices in analytics

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics

  • Minimum of 3 years working with Tableau and/or Power BI

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Healthcare data experience strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced expertise with Tableau's functionality, including its capabilities, limitations, and assumptions, and a deep understanding of security frameworks

  • Advanced expertise with PowerBI, including its capabilities, limitations, and a deep understanding of security frameworks

  • Advanced expertise in data storage strategies for maximizing BI performance

  • Proficiency in data visualization techniques and BI best practices

  • Proficient with data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R)

  • Familiarity with Snowflake dashboards

  • Experience building client-facing BI solutions

  • Data modeling experience preferred

Business Acumen

  • Ability to translate data insights into visual, actionable BI solutions

  • Understanding of key business metrics and financial analysis

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present complex data findings to diverse audiences

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Business Analyst Skills

  • Experience in collecting and documenting business requirements

  • Strong understanding of best practices in BI documentation
