Varicent Software

Varicent Software

Marketing & Communications, IT
Toronto, ON, Canada
Posted on Tuesday, June 25, 2024
A named leader by Forrester in the sales performance management space, Varicent was founded in 2005 when we pioneered sales performance management software. Evolving quickly to become the fastest growing software company in North America according to Deloitte’s Fast 50™ in 2010, Varicent was acquired by IBM in 2012 and has since been re-founded as an independent global business serving mid-size and enterprise clients with our full suite of solutions to assist in smarter territory and quota planning, efficient lead to revenue operations, and the fastest and most flexible way to pay sellers accurately and on-time. We are looking for talented, driven people that can make an impact across our organization.
Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity. Varicenters are comfortable being uncomfortable.
Before you apply, consider if you:
· Respect diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
· Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change.
· Bring critical thought and opinion — and embrace differences and disagreement to get work done and move forward.
At Varicent, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We believe in equality and recognize the value that diverse perspectives bring to our team.
Varicent's Technical Communication team is looking for a Technical Writer to help our customers be successful when using our products and features. As one of Canada’s fastest-growing tech companies, we are delivering new features rapidly. If you have the skills to deliver high-quality documentation and microcopy to our users, we want to hear from you!
As a Technical Writer, you’ll be responsible for writing, editing, and publishing online help content for our customers, business partners, and internal teams. You’ll work closely within our talented product teams to help develop and deliver great product experiences from start to finish. Whether helping craft delightful user interface microcopy or publishing excellent product documentation, your contributions are essential to our success.

What You Will Do:

  • Be an integrated part of the documentation lifecycle for our products and features.
  • Be an integrated part of the UX design lifecycle, producing microcopy for our products.
  • Ensure you adhere to style guide standards when producing documentation and UX copy for all Varicent products.
  • Provide a fresh perspective on our current documentation set, improving on current content as needed.
  • Provide a fresh perspective on tooling, providing recommendations as needed.
  • Interpret complex experiences into plain, straight-forward steps that users of all skill levels can understand.
  • Assist in the recommendation and execution of technologies related to more effective content delivery and communication.
  • Thoughtfully consider the best way to enhance your written work with multi-media content and the use of AI tools.
  • Manage your time while balancing work across multiple product teams with different deadlines.

What You Will Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience writing product documentation, UX/Microcopy copy, and/or other multi-media help content.
  • A portfolio of work that shows off your technical writing skills.
  • Ability to conduct research, interview subject matter experts, and perform other knowledge-gathering tasks.
  • A working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, any of these would be a plus:
  • Authoring tools.
  • AI writing and proofreading tools.
  • Web development technologies.
  • In-App help and Walk-through tooling
  • Ability to collaborate and find new ways to stay efficient.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new things.

Benefits

  • An annual education allowance
  • No meeting Wednesday
  • Flex Fridays
  • Generous time off (including your birthday)
  • Employee and Family Assistance
  • Amazing colleagues to learn from
